The advent of CRoW access in late 2005 threatens the conservation of the scarce
Stone Curlew in this area.
The consultant was commissioned to conduct fieldwork in the Stone Curlews’
Brecks breeding areas, so as to establish the scale of the potential problem
and provide solutions to it.

Over 20 sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI’s) were thoroughly investigated, mapped and the detailed findings reported.
The comprehensive final document proposed access solutions that embraced site management strategies, plus the provision of signage, education programmes and the infrastructure necessary to introduce and monitor outcomes.
